APPLICATION
Substrate Preparation:
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust and grease.
- Concrete must have a compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm² and a tensile strength of 1.5 N/mm².
- Maximum substrate relative humidity: 80%.
- Prepare surface by diamond grinding, shot blasting, or sanding. Vacuum thoroughly.
- Do not apply if ambient or substrate temperature is below 15°C or above 30°C, or if humidity exceeds 80%.
- Temperature must be at least 3°C above dew point.
- Do not apply to substrates with rising damp without a vapor barrier.
- Open or porous substrates may require priming.
- If humidity RH >75%, use HYDRO EPOXY PRIMER.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Mix Component A thoroughly, then add Component B and mix with a low-speed mixer (300–400 rpm), avoiding air bubbles.
- If applying over epoxy or polyurethane, apply before the previous layer is fully cured; don’t exceed 200 g per layer.
- Apply two coats with a solvent resistant roller, waiting 2 –4 hours between coats (2hrs at 25°C), however, under typical UK conditions and temp around 19-21 C, a drying time closer to 4 hours should be expected.
- Do not exceed recommended amount per coat to allow for proper curing.
- Application of Pro Protect over Protector Dur Matt/Satin: Ensure that Protector Dur Matt/Satin is fully cured before applying Pro Protect. As best practice, apply Pro Protect the day after Protector Dur Matt/Satin has been applied.
- Application of Protector Dur Matt/Satin over Pro Protect: Make sure Pro Protect is fully cured prior to application. This will generally require 2–4 hours, but under typical UK conditions, we recommend allowing 4 hours.
Tips:
- Only mix what you can use in 10–15 minutes.
- Clean tools with solvent immediately after use.
- Use only electric heaters if heating is needed.
- If applying on epoxy or polyurethane, ensure the previous layer is fully cured.
- To achieve a matt finish, apply one coat of polyurethane matt sealer – Protector DUR Matt, followed by one coat of polyaspartic sealer, and then a final coat of polyurethane matt sealer.
Important: Due to its chemical properties, polyaspartic sealer can slightly deepen the colour of microcement by around one tone. This effect can be more noticeable on lighter shades.
To help minimise this darkening, we recommend first applying one coat of Protector DUE Matt or Satin polyurethane sealer, followed by the application of the Pro Protec polyaspartic sealer.
Storage:
- Store in closed, original containers in a dry, covered place.
- Avoid freezing and temperatures above 30°C.
- Shelf life: 12 months if unopened.
Safety Precautions:
- In case of eye contact, rinse with water and seek medical advice.
- Wash skin with warm water and soap after use.
- Avoid release into the environment.
- Use suitable protective equipment.
